Job summary

Slalom is seeking a Wildfire Mitigation and PSPS Program Analyst to support a large Southern California utility’s Emergency Management function. This contract role requires 3 days per week onsite in the LA area and offers the possibility to move into a permanent position.

You will help maintain PSPS plans, support leadership with dashboards, and coordinate across teams in a high-stakes environment. Strong documentation, data handling, and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in emergency management or related field.
• Experience at electric/municipal utility preferred.
• Experience writing and maintaining plans and procedures with strong written communication.
• Solid analytical skills with Excel and building dashboards/reports.
• Familiarity with ICS and NIMS; ICS 100/200/700/800 completed or willing to complete within 60 days.
• Ability to organize work and track commitments across multiple stakeholders.
• Comfort with ambiguity and after-hours activations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain PSPS program workflows, track action items, and coordinate across teams to stay on schedule.
• Draft, update, and maintain plans, protocols, and procedures for wildfire mitigation and PSPS with ICS/NIMS alignment.
• Document PSPS event lifecycle from pre-event to post-incident and keep docs current.
• Support situational awareness by compiling weather data, fire risk indicators, assets, and field status inputs; maintain dashboards and reports.
• Prepare analyses, briefing materials, and status reports for leadership to support decision-making during wildfire/PSPS events.
• Participate in exercises, drills, and post-incident reviews; capture lessons learned and update plans/tools accordingly.
• Monitor evolving wildfire risk practices and summarize developments for the team.
• Support Emergency Operations Center activations with overtime or on-call shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays.
