Job Description

Responsible for tending plastic molding machines, such as injection molding or thermoforming, to ensure raw materials are prepared and available to meet production schedules. Assist with the removal and clean-up of raw materials after production.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of workstations before starting production.
  • Study production schedules to determine material and product requirements, movements, and deliveries.
  • Move stock to and from staging and production areas, manually or using equipment like forklifts.
  • Bring raw materials to press locations for color changes and mold changes.
  • Stage materials in dryers ahead of mold changes to reduce downtime.
  • Identify all staged materials for production.
  • Obtain necessary packaging supplies and components.
  • Maintain raw material supplies, including concentrates, to ensure they stay full.
  • Return unused or unnecessary materials to staging or the gate, and assist with workstation cleanup.
  • Notify technicians and quarantine contaminated or questionable materials.
  • Set up grinders for scrap reclamation and oversee scrap grinding.
  • Move auxiliary equipment as needed.
  • Assist in mold setups during loading and unloading.
  • Move finished products to staging once quality checks are complete.
  • Ensure all unused packaging and materials are correctly identified and returned after jobs.
  • Manage scrap gaylords, moving full ones from the work center.
  • Lead machine cleanup efforts, ensuring raw materials are not damaged or contaminated.
  • Properly scan raw materials, components, WIP, and finished goods for movement documentation.
  • Maintain filters, dryers, ovens, vacuum stations, and grinders.
  • Assist with inventory preparation and counting.
  • Recordkeeping related to inventory and lot traceability.
  • Perform routine inspections of forklifts and report repairs.
  • Operate forklift and other equipment safely.
  • Observe safety protocols and keep the work area clean and organized.

Pay Range: $17.76 - $26.64
