Job summary

Silvercrest is seeking an experienced Wide Format Printer Specialist to join our team in Palm Springs, CA. The role focuses on operating wide format printers, managing print files, and ensuring top-quality outputs across vinyl, canvas, and fabric applications.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with printer setup, calibration, RIP software, and installation of graphics for vehicle wraps, wall graphics, banners, and signage.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Wide Format Printer Specialist or similar role.
  • Proficient in wide format printing software, including RIP software and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong technical skills in operating and maintaining wide format printers.
  • Experience with material handling and installation of printed graphics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Good communication and project management skills.
  • Physical ability to handle materials and perform installations.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain wide format printers to produce high-quality prints on various materials, including vinyl, canvas, and fabric.
  • Monitor print jobs to ensure accuracy, color consistency, and quality standards are met.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on printers to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize software programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Caldera, Flexi, Production Manager), and other print-related applications to prepare and manage print files.
  • Ensure files are properly formatted and optimized for wide format printing, including color calibration, file resolution, and layout adjustments.
  • Prepare and cut materials for printing, ensuring correct dimensions and alignment.
  • Install wide format prints in various settings, including vehicle wraps, wall graphics, banners, and signage installations.
  • Apply laminates, adhesives, and other finishes to printed materials as required.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of printed materials to verify quality and adherence to client specifications.
  • Address any print defects or issues immediately to maintain the highest standards of output.
  • Collaborate with the design and sales teams to understand client needs and deliver projects on time.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and ensure the workspace remains clean and organized.
  • Stay informed of industry standards and best practices in wide format printing and installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Printer Operation:

  • Monitor print jobs to ensure accuracy, color consistency, and quality standards are met.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on printers to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Software Proficiency:
  • Utilize software programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Caldera, Flexi, Production Manager), and other print-related applications to prepare and manage print files.
