Galveston County Health District is seeking a WIC Nutritionist to provide nutrition education, counseling, and support to individuals and families participating in the WIC Program. You will assess nutritional needs, determine eligibility, issue food benefits, and support community outreach to promote healthy families.

We require a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Nutrition Sciences or Dietetics, strong communication skills, and preference for bilingual Spanish.

Competenze

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition Sciences, Human Nutrition, Dietetics, Community Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, or Clinical Nutrition.
Knowledge of basic nutrition principles and ability to provide effective nutrition education.
Ability to complete Texas WIC Certifying Authority training within six months.

Mansioni

Assess nutritional needs and identify risk factors following Texas WIC guidelines.
Determine participant eligibility for WIC services and provide individualized counseling.
Prescribe and issue food benefits through the Texas WIC eWIC system.
Develop and deliver nutrition education classes at WIC clinics and community locations.
Perform health screenings including height, weight, and hemoglobin/hematocrit testing.
Support breastfeeding education activities and group discussions.
Coordinate outreach to increase awareness of WIC services.
Maintain participant records and ensure reports comply with policies.
