Galveston County Health District is seeking a dedicated WIC Nutritionist to provide nutrition education, counseling, and support to participants in the WIC Program at clinics across Texas City and surrounding areas.

You will assess nutritional needs, determine eligibility for WIC services, issue benefits through eWIC, and deliver education classes while upholding HIPAA and program policies. Bilingual in Spanish preferred; evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Nutrition Sciences, Human Nutrition or Dietetics, Community Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, or Clinical Nutrition
• Knowledge of basic nutrition principles and the ability to provide effective nutrition education
• Ability to complete the Texas Health and Human Services WIC Certifying Authority (CA) training plan within six months of employment
• Previous experience in nutrition, WIC, or public health preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Advanced data entry skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements
• Valid Texas driver's license or ability to readily obtain one
• Ability to travel between WIC clinics and within Texas for training or conferences as needed
• Willingness to work evenings or weekends as necessary
• Must meet immunization andICS training requirements and pass criminal background and drug/alcohol screening

• Collaborate with GCHD departments and community partners to promote the WIC Program
• Maintain accurate participant records, complete required reports, and ensure compliance with program policies
• Assist with quality assurance activities and other program responsibilities as assigned
