Job summary

City of Joplin is seeking a nutrition education professional to conduct assessments and assign risk factors for the WIC program. You will provide nutrition and breastfeeding education, develop care plans, and document contacts with participants.

You will issue food benefits, schedule follow-ups, and refer clients to related services while upholding confidentiality and policy requirements. No prior WIC experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in nutrition-related field with required coursework.
• Licensed or eligible Dietitian/Nutritionist in Missouri (CDR).
• Knowledge of WIC program policies and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutrition assessments and determine risk factors for WIC eligibility.
• Provide nutrition and breastfeeding education to participants.
• Prepare care plans and document education contacts.
• Issue food benefits and coordinate follow-up appointments.
• Refer participants to additional social/health services as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of files and data as required.
