Job description

Position: WIC LPN or RN

Program and Location: WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program - Lexington NE

Position Summary: If you are looking to truly help people and change lives, this is the job for you! WIC is about daily contacts to “at risk” individuals and families in a client-centered environment within our communities to make a difference through assessments, education, support, and healthy foods.

Responsibilities: Primary duties include counseling, promoting health, breastfeeding and nutrition, determining nutritional risks, prescribing supplemental foods, and providing health education and care management to individuals and families who are members of vulnerable population and high-risk groups, along with community outreach.

Education Requirements: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current Nebraska license. Registered Nurses (RN) with current Nebraska license preferred, but not required.

  • Excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of Nutrition, Health, and Breastfeeding in the maternal and pediatric field
  • Bilingual considered a plus and includes additional compensation
  • Current Breastfeeding credentials (CBE, CLC, or IBCLC) a plus and includes additional compensation

Schedule/Hours: Four days a week, mostly Monday through Thursday, 8 hours per day, 32 hours a week. Scheduled hours are typically between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pay Rate and Benefits: Entry level for LPN is $22.00/hr, entry level for RN is $26.00/hr. Additional compensation available for candidates with relevant experience and credentials mentioned above. Benefits provided include: paid holidays, PTO, short term disability insurance, and Employee Assistance Program. Other benefits available include: health, dental, vision, cancer/critical illness, accident, and voluntary life insurance, as well as retirement and flexible spending account.
