Job summary

South Central Public Health District (SCPHD) in Jerome, Idaho, is hiring a WIC Clinical Assistant for a 32-hour work week. The role supports the Women, Infants and Children program in the Jerome office, performing paraprofessional clinical duties, maintaining client records, and helping families access nutrition services.

The ideal candidate will have basic health/nutrition knowledge, strong data recording skills, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Some knowledge of health and nutritional needs of adults and children.
• Experience interviewing and eliciting personal information.
• Experience adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Experience recording information accurately and legibly.
• Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews clients to obtain and document health and dietary data and explains services.
• Sets up clinic for WIC participants and maintains clinic areas with aseptic techniques.
• Informs clients of program requirements, reviews rights and available resources, and provides nutrition information.
• Maintains client records, schedules appointments, and handles receptionist duties using office computers.
