Job summary

CommuniCare Health Centers is seeking a WIC Certification Specialist (WI5509 - Northwest WIC) to provide breastfeeding support and nutrition education within the WIC program. The role involves completing certification processes, issuing benefits, scheduling appointments, and coordinating referrals using the WIC MIS system.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED with college nutrition courses preferred, and bilingual English/Spanish is advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college nutrition courses preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Basic office skills and computer literacy; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform nutrition assessments and document health history in the WIC MIS system.
• Provide nutrition counseling and breastfeeding education to individuals and groups.
• Complete WIC certification activities including goal setting, rights and responsibilities, and referrals.
• Schedule and monitor client appointments; collect required documents for eligibility.
• Manage WIC forms, supplies, and inventory; audit EBT card usage.
• Investigate dual participation and verify transfers within and across WIC projects.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist other departments as needed.
• Record anthropometric measurements (e.g., hemoglobin, hematocrit, diet recalls).
• Attend required trainings and assist with QA and outreach efforts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
