Job summary

Apple is seeking a skilled Wi‑Fi test engineer in Cupertino to develop and run test plans aimed at optimizing user experience. You will identify hardware and software issues through lab and field experiments and perform in‑depth protocol analysis across Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth.

Expect to generate KPI‑driven reports and influence program decisions while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and vendors. This role requires strong automation and scripting skills, working full‑time on site.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems, IT, or related field with 6 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience debugging WiFi protocol layers to resolve software issues.
• Proficiency with wireless sniffer tools (e.g., Wireshark) for failure analysis.
• Experience setting up OTA test beds to simulate field scenarios in lab.
• Experience developing 802.11 test plans and user scenarios.
• Strong Python scripting skills to automate testing tasks.
• Experience configuring 802.11ax/be APs and mesh gateways for validation.
• Ability to build automation frameworks to measure wireless performance (Candela).

Responsibilities

• Develop and run Wi‑Fi test plans with a focus on user experience.
• Perform failure analysis to identify hardware or software issues via lab and field tests.
• Conduct in‑depth Wi‑Fi/BT analysis of hardware, software, and system issues.
• Generate comprehensive system performance test reports with KPIs.
• Provide data‑driven insights to influence program decisions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and third‑party vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
