Join the Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems organization and be part of an outstanding team of engineers driving innovation on products used by millions worldwide. We are looking for a highly motivated Performance Engineer to optimize software design for Apple’s latest products, including the next generation of Apple Watch, AirPods, iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Description

As a key member of the Connectivity Firmware Performance team, you will work on software design, testing, and optimization from early prototypes until productization. Your work involves devising performance evaluation methodologies on software/hardware prototypes, analyzing logs, and making recommendations for software implementation based on trade-off analysis at a system and product level.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, or related protocols
  • Research or background experience in RF, Digital, and Wireless communications
  • Experience with wireless sniffers and protocol analyzers for debugging and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency in Python for testing, data analysis, and visualization
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol suite
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with power and performance trade-off analysis
  • Experience with CPU profiling and optimization
  • Programming skills in C or C++ (a plus)
  • Advanced degrees (MS or PhD) are a plus

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is part of a comprehensive compensation package, determined within a range based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The pay range for this role is $115,700 to $204,000. Employees have opportunities for stock participation, benefits like medical and dental coverage, retirement plans, discounts, educational reimbursement, and potential bonuses or relocation allowances.
