**Job Description**

• Coordinates nursing care of patients in the Emergency Department from pediatric to geriatric.
• Plans, implements and evaluates all levels of patient care.
• Performs age appropriate assessments and provides safe and effective care to all ages.
• Performs triage according to the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) 5 level triage process.
• Documents and maintains an ED record reflecting all nursing care provided.
• Collaborates with all providers and departments for optimal patient care.
• Coordinates the care needs of multiple patients.
• Prioritizes patient care to meet needs effectively and enhance patient flow.
• Communicates patient needs concisely.
• Advocates for patients through effective communication with the healthcare team.
• Participates in professional development and completes necessary education.
• Assesses patient and family knowledge and discharge needs.
• Monitors life support equipment and performs routine and complex treatments.
• Responds to crises in a calm and efficient manner.
• Complies with legal and legislative requirements ensuring patient rights.
• Maintains equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for each shift.
• Participates in educational experiences for pre-hospital emergency providers.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient documentation.
