You will plan, cook, and serve nutritious, age-appropriate menus that fuel growth while adhering to safety and sanitation standards. This role requires collaboration with staff, attention to dietary restrictions, and the ability to manage kitchen inventory and prep for large groups.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service, institutional cooking, or school/childcare nutrition preferred.
• Knowledge of child nutrition standards is desirable.
• Valid food handler's permit or ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Ability to manage time effectively and prepare meals for large groups efficiently.
• Strong understanding of food allergies, cross-contamination prevention, and safe food handling.
• Warm, caring demeanor with a genuine love for working in a child-centered environment.
• Ability to pass a background check as required for childcare settings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks for daycare children daily.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards in accordance with local health regulations.
• Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and minimizing food waste.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special nutritional needs of children.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
• Collaborate with school staff to align menus with nutritional guidelines and program schedules.
