Job summary

Milk Industry Management in New Jersey is seeking a Wholesale Driver to operate a straight truck on assigned routes, delivering products to customers in a timely, courteous and accurate manner.

The role includes loading/unloading, maintaining records, ensuring safety/DOT compliance, and completing delivery tickets and driver logs. A CDL Class A or B and a clean driving record are required, with the ability to lift 20–55 lb cases and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to perform basic arithmetic for measurements and inventory tasks.
  • Experience in food/beverage industry preferred.
  • CDL and clean driving record required; ability to pass pre-employment screens.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver product to customers in an efficient, timely, courteous and accurate manner.
  • Ensure accounts maintained according to published schematics.
  • Load/unload product from truck using hook or handcart.
  • Complete daily DOT and customer paperwork including delivery tickets and driver logs.
  • Follow DOT regulations and wear PPE; maintain food safety standards.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and stock/rotate product as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Wholesale Driver is responsible for operating a Straight Truck to deliver products to customers in an assigned route. The position involves loading, preordering, delivering, product accounting and other functions involved in servicing a variety of customers.

  • Deliver product to customers in an efficient, timely, courteous and accurate manner.
  • Ensure that all accounts are maintained according to the published schematics.
  • Secure and maintain distribution of all authorized company products.
  • Load or unload product manually with hook or handcart onto and off of the truck into the appropriate area at the customer's location.
  • Secure and maintain distribution of all products.
  • Maintain and submit proper records and paperwork.
  • Checks load security prior to travel and at each stop, making adjustments as needed.
  • Collect empty cases from customer location and return to facility.
  • Must be able to complete assigned route within DOT time regulations.
  • Know and comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation Handbook.
  • Maintain a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License and current DOT medical card.
  • Complete all daily DOT and customer paperwork including delivery tickets, pre- and post-trip inspections, driver logs and vehicle service reports.
  • Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing all required PPE in designated areas.
  • Follow Food Safety and Security Standards and Good Warehousing Practices. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work areas.
  • Stock and/or rotate product on shelves or in cold room.
  • Reset product displays.
  • Follow all required safe work practices. This would include wearing all required PPE in designated areas, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.
  • Must be able to drive, stand, walk, kneel, lift and bend required for virtually the entire shift. Balance - pulling product, climb in and out of truck. Ability to lift and/or move up to six cases on hand truck. (Cases weigh 20 to 55 lbs.).
  • Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environment with sometimes slippery floors. (Temperature range from 34-120) degrees F.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Be able to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess and maintain a CDL Class A or B.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks).
