Descrição da oferta de emprego

Build the next chapter of your leadership career

Are you an experienced wholesale distribution leader ready for greater responsibility, more autonomy, and a direct connection between your performance and financial success?

Perhaps you have successfully led teams, managed operations, and grown customer relationships—but your current position offers limited room to advance. At Hajoca, this opportunity provides a structured path toward leading a wholesale distribution business with responsibility for its people, sales, operations, profitability, and growth.

A structured transition into leadership

This is a management-track opportunity for an experienced professional—not an entry-level training program.

Before being appointed to the manager position, the selected candidate will complete a structured training and transition period lasting approximately 6 to 24 months, depending on prior experience and demonstrated readiness. During this period, you will learn Hajoca’s business model, systems, products, customers, and approach to leadership while gaining hands‑on experience across sales and branch operations.

About Hajoca

Hajoca Corporation is one of the country’s largest privately held wholesale distributors of plumbing, heating and cooling, and industrial supplies. Founded in 1858, Hajoca operates according to the principles of Service, Integrity, and Reliability and builds lasting relationships with teammates, customers, and suppliers.

Although Hajoca is a large company, we operate in a decentralized environment. Each location—called a Profit Center—is managed like an independent local business. A typical location includes a warehouse, sales counter, sales office, and, in some markets, a showroom.

Our managers are responsible for leading their teams, serving their local markets, building customer relationships, and delivering sustainable financial results. This combination of local autonomy and support from an established organization gives experienced leaders the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

About the Role:
You will:
  • Plan, direct, and lead all business operations at the Profit Center. This role is accountable for sustaining consistent profitability of the business.
  • Achieve sales, gross profit, market share, and profit sharing goals through the recruitment, development, training, coaching, evaluation, and management of the Profit Center team.
  • Set clear performance expectations and goals for teammates and conduct regular performance evaluations to assess progress and provide feedback and development.
  • Determine targeted customer account potential, establish sales goals for those accounts, and hold salespeople accountable for achieving those goals.
  • Achieve upper quartile performance in these key indicators – Gross Profit %, Net Salaries Ratio, Occupancy Ratio, Return on Investment, Gross Profit per Employee, and Profit Sharing per Employee.
  • Analyze available financial reports and information, implementing appropriate strategies to increase sales and margins, improve productivity, and manage expenses and assets.
  • Ensure the Profit Center meets or exceeds customer service expectations.
  • Build relationships in the community to understand the marketplace, increase market share, and identify new markets.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain and insist upon a safe working environment in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
  • Safeguard and maintain all Profit Center assets – buildings, fleet, equipment, inventory, and receivables.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
About You:
  • College degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of sales and service experience
  • 1+ year of leadership experience
  • Product knowledge related to the specific Profit Center market preferred
  • Able to drive for company business. As a company business driver, you must:
    • Be at least 18 years old.
    • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
    • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
Our ideal candidate will also:
  • Possess excellent people skills, sound business judgment, and the capacity for continued growth and contributions to the Company.
  • Effectively use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, to maintain appointments and customer and vendor contact files, and to analyze performance data.
  • Possessa strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity.
  • Create and nurture a positive team environment, inspiring all employees to do their best work to achieve the highest levels of customer and employee satisfaction.
  • Beable to build positive, influential relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Beable to interpret financial report data to determine the success/failure of plans and to take appropriate action to adjust business plans ensuring success.
  • Beable to learn and operate the computer‑related systems used for business operations.
  • Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
