Job Description

Assists the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned. Leads and develops Team Members. Ensures a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times. Performs all duties in accordance with store SOPs and supports WFM core values and initiatives, including health and safety regulations.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develops and maintains creative store layout and product merchandising.
  2. Works with Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
  3. Assists in sales, reports, and labor analysis.
  4. Supports annual sales and expense projections and budget planning.
  5. Assists with ordering and inventory management.
  6. Resolves team concerns and issues in collaboration with the Team Leader.
  7. Acts as departmental point person in the absence of the Team Leader.
  8. Ensures high standards of retail execution.
  9. Promotes a positive environment of teamwork, respect, and morale.
  10. Monitors customer flow and needs, directing Team Members to ensure customer satisfaction.
  11. Recruits, trains, mentors, and evaluates Team Members to maintain high performance and low turnover.
  12. Maintains safety and security standards for Team Members.
  13. Provides performance evaluations in a timely and thorough manner.
  14. Models and communicates WFM vision and goals.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Standing/walking 6-8 hours, sitting 1-4 hours in an 8-hour shift.
  • Hand use, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and temperature variations.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Use of tools and equipment, including heavy machinery and ladders.
