Job Description

Assists the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned. Leads and develops Team Members. Ensures a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times. Performs all duties in accordance with store SOPs and supports WFM core values and goals, promoting programs and initiatives while adhering to health and safety regulations, including Food Safety.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develops and maintains creative store layout and product merchandising.
  2. Works with Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
  3. Assists in sales, reports, and labor analysis.
  4. Prepares sales, expense projections, and budgets with the Team Leader.
  5. Assists with ordering and inventory management.
  6. Resolves team concerns or issues alongside the Team Leader.
  7. Acts as departmental point person in the absence of the Team Leader.
  8. Ensures high standards of retail execution.
  9. Fosters a positive environment of teamwork, respect, and morale.
  10. Monitors customer flow and needs, directing Team Members to satisfy and delight customers.
  11. Trains, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members to sustain high performance and reduce turnover.
  12. Maintains safety and security standards.
  13. Provides timely performance evaluations.
  14. Models and communicates WFM vision and goals.

  • Hand use includes grasping, manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Movements include bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and temperature variations.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Use of tools and equipment, including heavy machinery and ladders.
