Job Description

AVA Rafting & Zipline is seeking Whitewater Raft Guides for the Moab, Utah location for the summer season June 2026 to September 2026. The position is full‑time or part‑time (part‑time <30 hours and full‑time ~40 hours). Relocation services include employee campgrounds for accommodations while the guide works onsite in Utah.

Pay and Benefits

Starting pay for experienced guides is $15.56 an hour. Tips typically add an additional $10 to $20 per hour. Guides with further experience may earn higher compensation. Additional benefits include gear discounts with bulk partners.

Responsibilities
  • Lead safe, educational, and enjoyable river trips, serving as the face of the company.
  • Navigate commercial rafts down class III – V whitewater, managing guests and maintaining situational awareness.
  • Provide interpretive information to guests during the trip.
  • Execute swiftwater rescue techniques as needed and maintain readiness for rescue.
  • Maintain equipment, gear, and work area, performing routine inspections.
  • Work 2–3 trips a day, typically 9‑hour shifts.
  • Maintain a great outdoor experience with guests and coworkers.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Physically capable and passionate about the outdoors.
  • Strong teamwork and customer‑care skills.
  • Experience navigating class III to class V whitewater.
  • Up‑to‑date CPR, First Aid, and other rescue training.
  • Current, verifiable river miles demonstrated before employment start; must perform checkout runs for each stretch of river to be guided with AVA.
  • Available for the full season as listed under work availability.
Work Availability

Part‑time: <30 hours per week. Full‑time: ~40 hours per week.
