POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under general supervision, this role leads a team in installing interactive boards, panels, projectors, and peripheral equipment, including delivery and offsite cleanup. The technician will assist in managing employee and subcontractor performance. This position offers growth opportunities toward becoming a Field Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise communication with vendors and customers regarding installation readiness and project services, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Create and share status reports on work progress, costs, and schedules.
- Communicate project updates with team members and superiors.
- Participate in strategy and project meetings with clients.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
- Unpack and inventory equipment based on BOM.
- Work with hand tools: drills, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.
- Install A/V cabling, wall-mounted interactive boards, projectors, speakers, and flat panels.
- Adjust, test, and calibrate equipment.
- Provide and install backer boards as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Report on asset status and review subcontractor invoices.
- Coordinate shipment components and report claims as necessary.
- Communicate billing issues to supervisors.
- Reliable transportation to various school sites is required.
Experience & Education:
Associate’s degree or technical training, or 6 months to 1 year related experience. Preferably 2+ years in installation, with at least 1 year in a lead or responsible role. Background in project administration and A/V installation is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge:
Understanding of installation principles, ability to interpret SOW documents, familiarity with A/V wiring, mechanical skills, and basic construction knowledge. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC troubleshooting, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently with attention to detail are essential.
