Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

A sophisticated New York litigation and investigations practice is seeking a mid-level associate to work on high-stakes white collar matters, government investigations, internal investigations, and complex commercial disputes. The role offers exposure to matters where litigation strategy, regulatory risk, and business consequences intersect, with associates working closely with experienced trial lawyers and directly with clients. You will have the opportunity to conduct witness interviews, develop investigative strategy, draft substantive advocacy, and take meaningful ownership of matters rather than remaining confined to large-team discovery work. Compensation ranges from $225,000-$365,000, depending on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Represent companies and individuals in government investigations, enforcement proceedings, and white collar criminal matters
  • Conduct internal investigations involving allegations of fraud, misconduct, regulatory violations, and other sensitive business issues
  • Prepare witnesses for interviews, testimony, depositions, and interactions with government authorities
  • Draft motions, briefs, investigative reports, presentations, and submissions to prosecutors and regulatory agencies
  • Analyze complex factual records and develop litigation, investigative, and defense strategies alongside senior attorneys
  • Communicate directly with clients and take increasing responsibility for managing significant portions of investigations and related litigation
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York Bar
  • 3–6 years of white collar defense, investigations, enforcement, or sophisticated litigation experience
  • Experience conducting factual investigations, witness interviews, or complex litigation discovery
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • Government enforcement, regulatory, trial, or federal clerkship experience is a plus
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive, high-stakes matters
WHAT WE OFFER

An opportunity to build genuine white collar and investigations experience rather than spending years supporting matters from the background. The role offers $225,000-$365,000 in annual compensation, hybrid flexibility, sophisticated matters, direct client exposure, close mentorship from experienced litigators, and earlier opportunities to conduct interviews, develop strategy, advocate for clients, and build the judgment required to handle major investigations independently.
