Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese is seeking a 2nd Shift Whey Process Operator2 to support whey evaporation and drying operations in a fast-paced facility in New York. The role involves operating AMVR evaporator and spray dryers, performing lab work, and ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

The position offers a 4:00 PM–4:00 AM schedule with pay between $25.80 and $26.45 per hour, depending on experience and internal equity. SAP experience and a High School diploma are preferred requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to adapt to changing processes and make adjustments.
• Understanding of evaporator and dryer operation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate and clean the AMVR Evaporator in automatic and manual modes.
• Operate and clean the TFD and MSD spray dryers.
• Perform lab work as required.
• Identify product deficiencies and take appropriate action.
• Prepare equipment for cream shipments and ensure readiness.
• Troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
• Maintain equipment and plant to meet regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to Safe Quality Food program policies and procedures.
