Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance on wheeled military vehicles in the field and in the shop. You will inspect, service, repair, and test systems, and recover vehicles as needed.

Extensive hands-on learning leads to civilian career pathways in service stations and dealerships. Training includes 10 weeks Basic and 13 weeks AIT, with pay during training and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
• Interest in automotive engines and how they work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles associated trailers and material handling equipment systems.
• Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness, and starting and charging systems.
