Job summary

Community LIFE is seeking a casual Wheelchair Van Driver to transport older adults to the day center, residences, and outside appointments in the McKeesport area. The role requires a valid PA driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a DOT physical.

Location includes McKeesport, PA and nearby areas. The position is casual, not full-time, with a minimum of 16 hours per month and hours Monday–Friday during daytime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Five years of driving experience required; prior transportation experience with mobility needs helpful.
• Valid PA Driver's License with a clean driving record; ability to pass DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Transport older adults to day center, residence, and outside appointments.
• Deliver medical equipment and assist with activities as directed by Transportation Supervisor.
• Maintain safety and professionalism in all interactions with participants and staff.

Salary Range: $16.50 To $18.00 Hourly

Locations : McKeesport, PA & Rostraver, PA

Schedule: CASUAL HOURS, 16 Hours minimum a month. Hours fall during Monday-Friday, daylight. This is not a full-time position.

Salary:$16.50- $18 per hour, based on experience

Su mmary of Job Duties: The Van Driver is primarily responsible for transporting older adults to and from the day center and their residence, to outside appointments and activities, delivering medical equipment, etc., as requested by the Transportation Supervisor.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience:

• Previous transportation, medical equipment and/or supply experience including experience transporting individuals with special mobility needs.
• Prior experience in the geriatric field helpful.
• Five years of driving experience required

Required Certifications/Licensure:

• Valid PA Driver's License with a clean driving record
• Must be able to pass DOT physical

Required Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

• Knowledge of the area roads in the program area.
• Ability to read a road map.
• Ability to deal professionally and diplomatically with participants and other staff.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Be mentally alert and have the ability to effectively plan and organize assignments in the most efficient manner.
• Must be flexible, adaptable and able to function in stressful situations.

Please Note: Candidates must be able to pass a DOT physical. In addition, Community LIFE will randomly drug and alcohol-test employees in Van Driver and Escort positions for compliance with its drug and alcohol-free workplace policy on a quarterly basis.
