Job Summary:

Provide transportation services for patients traveling to doctor’s appointments, physical therapy, or other medical treatments.

Job Functions:

  1. Provide safe and efficient transport of patients in the ambulette as scheduled by dispatch. This includes but is not limited to assisting patients to and from ambulette; efficient transfer of patient to receiving personnel.
  2. Operate/drive ambulette in accordance with company’s driving standards, policies, and procedures. Ensure safety of bus occupants by observing safe driving practices; seat belt application and general patient security.
  3. Record transportation logs; obtain patient documentation; complete all forms as required by policy.
  4. Conduct regular ambulette inventory and equipment testing to ensure proper operation. Report and document all needed repairs to the proper maintenance department and management.
  5. Comply with all FCC regulations and company policy when utilizing electronic communications equipment.
  6. Order supplies and equipment as needed from purchasing.
  7. Perform general safety and proper operations check; includes but is not limited to: fluid checks, tire checks, horn check, fuel checks.
  8. Maintain ambulette; includes but is not limited to: washing & waxing exterior; cleaning interior; re-fueling, adding air to tires, checking oil.
  9. Provide basic life support—first aid or CPR in emergency situations to patients.
  10. Attend all mandatory staff meetings as scheduled.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current and valid state driver's license
  • Current CPR certificate
  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Must have a clean background and be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen
