Job summary

SPX Technologies, Cincinnati Fan, is seeking a Wheel Balancer to join its manufacturing team in Ohio. You will set up machines to meet tolerances and balance wheels from 12" to 36" OD, with MIG welding as needed.

This entry-level role emphasizes safety, quality, and on-time delivery, offering growth through learning MIG welding and working with grinders, cranes, and hand tools in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and maintain a clean, orderly work area
• Verify material, sizes, and parts match job tickets
• Read job tickets and coordinate staging of parts and items
• Perform MIG welding operations to add material or remove excess weld
• Document work performed using required procedures
• Perform light maintenance on equipment and tools
• Complete tasks with minimal supervision

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Wheel Balancer, you will work as a team to meet on time delivery and exceed customer satisfaction. The Wheel Balancer is a cross functional role responsible for the set-up of machines to meet product tolerances. Weight may be added with MIG welding or removed by grinding material off with angle grinders. This is an excellent opportunity for an Entry Level MIG welder or individual looking to learn MIG welding as a trade.

Safety

• Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business
• Maintain general work areas and/or equipment used in a clean and orderly condition
• Ensure proper and effective operation of machine and tools throughout entire process. Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor

Quality

• Confirm material, sizes, and parts match job tickets
• Ensure all parts and surfaces are free from defects
• Able to self-monitor quality of own work, and report to lead or supervisor
• unusual, defective, or operating difficulties
• Complete all tasks and work within designed quality guidelines
• Accurately document work performed using company required documents and procedures

Delivery

• Balance wheels based on sizes ranging from 12\" O.D. to 36\" O.D.
• Able to read job tickets, work orders, and instructions
• Coordinate staging and sequencing of parts, productions items, and product components
• Perform MIG welding operations to add material or angle grinders to remove excel weld and material to successfully balance wheel fan
• Accurately document work performed using company required documents and procedures
• Perform light maintenance on equipment, machines, and other devices used in the normal course of work performed
• Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision

Required Experience

• 1 year manufacturing environment
