WGL - Senior Director Technical Services

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Director, Technical Services to provide leadership and operational oversight for the utilities' Dispatch, Corrosion Control, Field Assets/Meter Shop, Leak Survey, and Resource Planning services.

You Will:

  1. Develop and implement plans and resource allocation models to meet operational, financial, and compliance objectives.
  2. Build resource plans that ensure appropriate workforce distribution across regional jurisdictions and programs.
  3. Oversee the financial performance of the operating unit within the assigned areas.
  4. Lead standardization of work practices across departments to drive consistency, safety, reliability, and efficiency in preventative, corrective, and maintenance activities.
  5. Oversee the provision of 24/7 emergency response operations, ensuring effective and timely resolution of outages, gas leaks, and other critical field incidents.
  6. Drive continuous improvement through the adoption of emerging technologies, data analytics, and performance reporting tools.
  7. Ensure KPIs and dashboards reflect critical performance metrics, support data-driven decision-making, and align with best practices and regulatory standards.
  8. Collaborate with Utility Operations Leadership to develop and execute business strategies aligned with both short- and long-term corporate goals.
  9. Partner with cross-functional Utility leadership and teams to drive innovation, operational improvements, and alignment with broader organizational goals.
  10. Lead process improvement initiatives that reduce operational inefficiencies and advance service excellence.
  11. Identify and support new business opportunities, ensuring alignment with enterprise growth initiatives and regulatory mandates.
  12. Champion employee development, safety culture, engagement, and collaboration across the geographically distributed management team.
  13. Ensure accountability for safety, quality, and compliance performance metrics; meet or exceed service goals and regulatory timelines.
  14. Foster strong relationships with customers, employees, community officials, business leaders, and regulatory agencies.
  15. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence; support the professional development of employees and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

You Have:

  1. Bachelor's Degree preferred. 15+ Years of relevant experience required.
  2. 10+ Years of leadership experience required.
  3. Experience working with regulatory commissions and government agencies.
  4. Experience in crisis management and emergency response preferred.

We offer a competitive salary range of $211,000.00 to $321,250.00 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
