WGL - HR Compliance Lead

Join WGL as our HR Compliance Lead and play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations across the US and Canada meet the highest legal standards and internal policies. This position offers the opportunity to develop, implement, and manage compliance programs, conduct audits, and proactively address non-compliance issues. Lead initiatives and implement solutions to keep our company ahead.

You Will:
  1. Create and manage compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal standards and policies.
  2. Audit company procedures and documents to identify risks.
  3. Draft and revise policies to ensure compliance.
  4. Design and deliver employee training on compliance topics.
  5. Develop risk management strategies and control systems.
  6. Coordinate with auditors and address issues from audits.
  7. Prepare reports for management and regulators.
  8. Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices.
  9. Ensure accurate and timely completion of Form I-9, audit forms, and stay updated on I-9 regulations.
  10. Train HR staff on I-9 procedures.
  11. Prepare for ICE audits and maintain documentation.
  12. Correct I-9 errors promptly to avoid penalties.
  13. Develop and implement MFE strategies focusing on meritocracy, equal opportunity, and nondiscrimination. Collaborate with HR and leadership to promote an inclusive workplace culture.
  14. Conduct training to raise awareness of MFE issues.
  15. Establish metrics to measure MFE program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  16. Support employee resource groups and diversity initiatives.
  17. Act as a liaison with external organizations to enhance MFE partnerships.
You Have:
  • 7+ years of experience as a Compliance Lead or similar role, preferably in multi-state/country companies.
  • Experience with federal contractor compliance (OFCCP, EEOC, etc.).
  • Experience with EEO-1, VETS-4212 reporting for US entities.
  • Strong understanding of legal guidelines, governance, and compliance management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, HR, or related; Master’s or certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) are a plus.

We offer a competitive salary of $113,000 to $164,000, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
