Duty Description:

Our Mission Training Complex (MTC) is seeking a Senior Principal Collective Trainer to join our team. This individual represents the Fires WFF on the MTCs Mission Command Training Team (MCTT). The team develops, designs, produces, and sustains training products and events for US Army units, providing a decisive advantage to the warfighter.

The Senior Principal Collective Trainer for WFF plays a key role in collective training and exercise design. They must be a subject matter expert in the WFF warfighting function and all tasks required of the collective training team. Responsibilities include liaising with training units, preparing exercises (CPX, MCSI, MDMP, CUOPS, STAFFEXs, Working Groups, Targeting Boards), ensuring simulations meet training objectives, attending meetings, scheduling training, providing feedback reports, managing tours and VIP visits, conducting equipment inventory, and processing supply requests.

The trainer also assists with exercise design and execution, mentors team members, and ensures integration of Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) simulations within short notice. Major tasks involve Mission Command Staff Collective Training, developing products and databases for training, establishing Battle Staff Integration, overseeing the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC), and configuring command post exercise simulations. Collaboration with other War Fighting Functions, development of training requirements, and serving as the WFF Lead for the Higher Control Cell (HICON) are also essential. The role includes training assistant instructors, maintaining Programs of Instruction, coordinating technical setups, and ensuring quality in Mission Command Systems products. Expert knowledge of CPCE, JBC-P systems, current operations, and doctrine is required.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience as a battalion or brigade staff officer or BN Commander.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in TOC operations and MCIS skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • US citizenship with a secret or higher security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
  • MEL 4 qualification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE).
  • Army Instructor certification and experience with MCIS or enabling systems (JCR/JBCP, AFATDS, JADOCS, TAIS, AMDWS, DCGS-A).
  • Experience with simulation systems or Army Low Overhead Tactical Trainers (ALOTT).
  • Instructor certification is a plus.
