Job summary

United Felts is seeking a Wetout Technician I in New York to stack liners on pallets according to customer specs and assist Inspectors with quality reviews. The role requires following construction sheets, aiding machine setups, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

You will report any quality issues promptly, monitor supplies, and adapt to potential weekends or shift variations. A strong emphasis on safety and teamwork supports our fast-paced infrastructure business.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours daily.
• Lift/move at least 50 lbs as part of daily duties.
• Able to wear PPE (hard hat, vest, boots, glasses) as required.

Responsibilities

• Read construction and customer requirement sheets to meet specs.
• Assist machine setups with the team.
• Assist with wrapping and strapping completed liners.
• Stack liners on pallets per customer requirements.
• Assist Inspectors in identifying quality issues on the line.
• Report any quality problems to the Supervisor immediately.
• Check drive rollers for needles before/after production.
• Keep pallets and folds free from repairs.
• Communicate pallet size needs with Supervisor.
• Monitor supplies and report shortages.
• Maintain a clean work area; perform cleaning duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

As a Wetout Technician I , you will be stacking liners on pallets corresponding to the agreed customer requirements. Assist Inspectors in reviewing liners to ensure we continue to produce and supply our customers with liners of the highest quality.

What you'll do

• Read construction sheet and customer requirement sheet fully in order to meet the customer requirements.
• Assisting co-workers in machine setups.
• Assisting co-workers in wrapping and strapping down completed liners.
• Stacking liners on pallets neatly and correctly according to customer requirements.
• Assist Inspectors in review the liner as it comes of the line for any quality issues.
• Report any quality problems to the Supervisor immediately.
• Check drive rollers for needles prior to running coated material and after running felt material and/or at the beginning of the shift.
• When stacking liners, keep repairs out of folds.
• Consult with your Supervisor to determine correct pallet size for liner.
• Continually review supplies and report to your Supervisor any shortages.
• Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleaning duties when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Typical Physical Demands:

• Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day, including prolonged standing and walking, bending, and twisting.
• Ability to lift and move at least 50 lbs. on a continuous basis
• Able to wear required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working as required by the job.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but could include weekends, evenings and/or holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.
