Job summary

United Felts, Inc. seeks a Flamebonder to monitor material and ensure products meet customer requirements and Quality Control standards.

You will read construction and customer sheets, assist with machine setups and wrapping, and report any quality issues to supervision. The role includes lifting up to 60 lbs, shift flexibility, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • GED/High School Diploma is required.
  • 3 months on-the-job training is required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor material to ensure it matches customer requirements and QC standards.
  • Read construction sheet and customer requirement sheet to meet customer requirements.
  • Assist co-workers in machine setups.
  • Assist co-workers in wrapping material.
  • Report quality problems to Supervisor immediately.
  • Label problem areas in the liner and complete relevant paperwork for records.
  • Periodically check material width to meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor supplies and report shortages to Supervisor.
  • Work safely by following safety policies and procedures.
  • Keep a clean work environment; perform cleaning duties as required.
  • Ensure correct rolls are located prior to running the machine.
  • Monitor progress of felt strip and replace as needed.
  • Before run, verify number of layers, welds, and rolls usage.
  • Check propane tank weight daily.
  • Perform other duties incidental to work described herein.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as needed.

What you'll do
  • The Flamebonder participates in monitoring material to ensure product corresponds to the agreed customer requirements and material meets Quality Control requirements.
  • Read construction sheet and customer requirement sheet fully in order to meet the customer requirements.
  • Assisting co-workers in machine setups.
  • Assisting co-workers in wrapping material.
  • Participate in reporting any quality problems to Supervisor immediately.
  • Participate in the labeling of any problem areas in the liner and completing relevant paperwork in order to keep correct documentation of records.
  • Periodically check the width of material to ensure it meets customer requirements.
  • Continually review supplies and report to your Supervisor any shortages.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times by following the company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleaning duties when required.
  • Make sure correct rolls are located prior to running the machine.
  • Monitor to progress of the felt strip and change the strip when needed.
  • Prior to the run, make sure number of layers is correct, previous welds are satisfactory and make sure the correct number of rolls are being utilized.
  • Propane tank weight must be checked on a daily basis.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.
  • Will at times be asked to perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • GED/High School Diploma.
  • Satisfactorily complete 3 months on-the-job training.
Typical Physical Demands:
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day, including prolonged standing and walking, bending, and twisting.
  • Requires full range of motion including eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs. on a continuous basis.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Able to wear required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working as required by the job.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but could include shift work, weekends, evenings and/or holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.
