Job summary

Conservation Districts of Iowa seeks a Wetland Engineering Technician to support the design and implementation of wetland restoration and enhancement on private lands in Iowa through ACEP-WRE and CRP programs. You will collaborate with NRCS staff and DNR, training to deliver projects from surveys to construction oversight.

The role requires strong communication, field experience, and the ability to work outdoors in wetlands, with potential for growth and extension beyond initial funding through

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related natural resources field and 1-year related field experience in wetland or wildlife habitat development and management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work with landowners and partner agencies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with landowners and the engineering team to develop topographic surveys and collect field data.
• Prepare project plans, technical specifications, and project cost estimates.
• Conduct field inspections and provide construction management oversight.
• Develop skills and relationships to assist landowners and team in wetland restoration and enhancement.
