Job summary

Stellantis in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Wet Fuels Lab Mechanic to support fuel system development, testing, and prototype vehicle programs in a laboratory and engineering environment.

You will remove and replace fuel system components, perform light fabrication and wiring work, operate test stands, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and collaborate closely with engineers to advance product development.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of automotive repair and fuel systems.
• Proven mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with electrical systems ranging from 120V to 480V and willingness to learn high-voltage vehicle systems.
• Ability to use standard mechanic tools and maintain a personal toolbox.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Remove and replace automotive fuel system components and assemblies.
• Perform light fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly work.
• Build, repair, and modify wire harnesses and electrical connectors.
• Operate and support department test stands used for component evaluation and validation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues related to automotive systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Work closely with engineers and technicians to support product development activities.
• Complete required administrative tasks, including program tracking, labor reporting, and training documentation.
• Support coworkers and department initiatives as needed.
• Maintain and develop technical skill sets to support evolving engineering and product development requirements.
