Job summary

Stellantis NV in Auburn, AL seeks an Engine Dyno Test Cell Operator to support engine and transmission testing, handle test article carts, perform routine maintenance, and execute light fabrication tasks. You will work closely with powertrain engineers, operate dynamometer controls, and ensure system integrity throughout testing cycles.

The role requires flexibility to work any shift and a hands-on mechanical skillset.

Qualifications

Minimum of a High School Diploma.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as an automotive mechanic or related position.
Automotive repair degree/certification in lieu of experience may be considered.
Willingness to work in a team-based environment.
Basic knowledge of operating a computer.
Possession of a mechanics toolbox and hand tool set.
Must be able to work any shift.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical support for engine and transmission testing.
Install and remove test article carts.
Execute standard engine maintenance (oil changes, spark plugs, compression/leak checks, coolant system pressurization).
Perform part changes (cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds).
Light fabrication (MIG & TIG welding, machining, cutting).
Operate dynamometer controls: start/stop tests, schedule runs, perform system integrity checks, adjust spark advance, fuel-air ratio, cam/valve positions.
Collaborate with powertrain development engineers daily.
