Job summary

Energy Laboratories Inc. is seeking an Analyst to perform standardized chemical analyses and prepare environmental samples, industrial wastes, soils, and related materials for testing. You will follow SOPs and maintain documentation in a QA/QC environment.

In this role, you will maintain laboratory instruments, assist in other lab areas as needed, and contribute to safety, quality, and efficiency while upholding GLP standards and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a related scientific field.
• Experience with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and database tools.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Summary:The Analyst is responsible cooperating with the strategic plan of the organization and performing standardized and quantitative chemical analyses to determine the concentration of specified analytes. This includes preparing environmental samples, industrial wastes, soils, and related materials for testing. Analysts are expected to follow established procedures and maintain high quality documentation, data integrity, and regulatory compliance in a laboratory setting.Essential Functions:Perform analytical testing using standardized methods and SOPs.Accurately document laboratory analysis per QA/QC protocols; maintain logbooks and electronic data records.Interpret results by comparing findings with reference data and sample site characteristics.Maintain QA/QC systems and documentation, including standards traceability and method performance records.Prepare reagents and standards per SOP requirements.Maintain laboratory instruments and equipment in proper working order.Follow all laboratory safety procedures and consult with team members on safety matters.Manage laboratory supplies and adhere to waste management protocolsSupport cross-training efforts and mentor team members on analytical procedures.Assist in other lab areas as needed, performing routine lab duties.Contribute to resource allocation decisions supporting operation efficiency and profitability.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a related scientific field.Experience in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and database tools.Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, tact, and professionalism.Required Knowledge and Skills:Thorough understanding of laboratory protocols and scientific methodologies.Ability to read and interpret SOPs, safety documents, technical data, and regulatory requirements.Strong written and verbal skills.Competency in using algebra and geometry for analytical calculations.Ability to compute ratios, percentages, volume, weights, and surface areas.Reasoning Abilities:Capable of solving practical problems and analyzing data in non-standardized scenarios.Able to follow complex written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Attendance at job-specific and industry-related training sessions as required.Physical/Mental Requirements:Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and verbally communicate in a clear and professional manner.Must be able to operate standard laboratory and office equipment safely and effectively.Requires visual acuity, including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus for detailed laboratory tasks.Must have the physical stamina to stand or remain on feet for extended periods of time, as required by laboratory procedures.Occasionally required to lift, carry, move, or position materials and equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.Working Environment:This role requires work in both a laboratory and office setting. you will encounter samples which may contain blood, bodily fluids, chemicals, fumes, gases, and unpleasant odors.
