Join a fast-growing nonprofit shaping state-level energy policy in Republican-led Western states. This Principal-level role will lead strategic advocacy efforts and build long-term relationships with elected officials, regulators, and energy-focused stakeholders across the region.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead state-level energy advocacy across the Western region
  • Build lasting relationships with policymakers, legislators, and local stakeholders
  • Design campaigns aligned with national and regional energy policy goals
  • Identify and support candidates for utility commissions and energy offices
  • Translate energy priorities into state-specific policy initiatives
  • Coordinate strategic outreach to advance industry-supported policy reforms
  • Represent member interests in political and regulatory environments

What You Bring

  • 4–7 years experience in policy, advocacy, or state government
  • Strong familiarity with Republican political dynamics in Western states
  • Proven record of relationship-building with public sector stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines independently
  • Deep knowledge of alternative energy policy or energy sector fluency
  • Comfortable working remotely with periodic regional travel as needed
  • Strong communication and strategic planning skills under political pressure

Salary: $90,000 + benefits (flexible for senior candidates)

Location: Ideally based in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, or Wyoming

Applicant must be based at a State Capitol in either Alaska, Wyoming, Utah, Montana, Idaho or Nevada.
