Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking an External Affairs Manager to build local relationships and support government affairs in California and the Western states. The role reports to the head of External Affairs in the West and collaborates with project development and operations teams to support a large portfolio.

You will engage with government officials, tribal groups, labor unions, and community stakeholders, crafting messaging and coordinating events to foster goodwill and inform communities

Qualifications

• 4+ years in government affairs, public policy, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years equivalent experience.
• Strong connections in California state/local politics and with officials.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for Clearway in California and the Western states.
• Support outreach to legislatures, Governor’s Office, and agencies.
• Cultivate community partnerships for development projects with local teams.
• Organize open houses, tours, and events to share information with communities.
• Maintain relationships with plant managers, project developers, and landowners.
• Craft messaging and develop communications materials.
