Job summary

Ledgent represents a leading transportation and logistics client seeking a Staff Accountant to join the West Palm Beach headquarters onsite. You will support the Controller with accurate financial records, month-end close, and timely reporting for a growing operation.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel. Local candidates eligible for full-time onsite employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Record journal entries and support financial statement preparation.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Assist with payroll accounting and related reconciliations.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support accounting system enhancements.
• Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned by the Controller and leadership team.
