Job summary

AdventHealth Tampa in Florida is seeking a Nursing Assistant on a PRN basis to support patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The team emphasizes safety, accurate documentation, and compassionate service in a demanding hospital setting.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, be enrolled in an accredited nursing program or have completed one within a year, and hold BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Graduation or equivalent is required.
• Enrollment in an accredited nursing program or completion within 1 year of nursing program, or have completed a nursing program and not yet licensed.

Responsibilities

• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, uses PPE, performs hand hygiene and safety regulations.
• Assists in patient care under RN supervision and documents procedures.
• Performs treatments and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Evaluates patient developmental level and supports family accordingly.

Education

Job Description

Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations. Exemplifies AdventHealth’s core values of Keep Me Safe, Make It Easy, Love Me, and Own It through behavior. Other duties as assigned. Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a registered nurse. Documents and reports all procedures accurately according to department policy. Participates in obtaining nursing history and evaluates age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms, reporting abnormalities to the registered nurse. Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture, and functions appropriately in clinical emergencies. Participates in practice changes from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives. Evaluates patients' developmental level, identifies increased physical/emotional dependency needs, and assesses the availability of support systems. Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Must demonstrate ability and understanding of the age-specific care requirements of geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric patient populations, including appropriate selection of patient equipment, communication, and safety needs.
• Requires close attention and mental effort in executing multiple assigned duties, such as recording blood pressures, input & output (I & O), obtaining and documenting blood glucose monitor results, and distributing and collecting dietary trays.
• Ability to float between assignments and adapt to varying healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance with all safety and infection control policies to prevent injury to patients, employees, or self.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field Of Study

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing program and has completed the first semester of Nursing Fundamentals OR has completed an accredited nursing program within one (1) year and has not obtained their license for Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Work Experience

• 1+ experience as a nursing assistant [Preferred]

Licenses And Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range

$15.46 - $24.73
