Job summary

Workstream in San Diego area seeks a Personal Care Attendant-Caregiver to provide non-medical in-home care and assistance with daily living activities. Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, meal planning, and companionship in clients' homes and communities.

You will support clients who cannot fully perform daily tasks, ensuring a caring and respectful service in line with agency policies and state regulations. Overtime options available and plenty of room for growth.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents
• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate
• Registered with state of CA and active HCA number
• Completed “Criminal Record Statement” (LIC 508)
• Complete “Personnel Record” (LIC 501)
• Complete “Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders” (SOC 341A)
• Minimum of five (5) hours entry-level orientation training prior to presence with client(s)

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and ambulation
• Provide mouth care, medication reminders, and toileting/incontinence support
• Support meal planning and preparation, skin care and transfers

Job Description Summary

• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers provide non-medical service and assistance to a client in their home and communities, who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these services. These services enable the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following: bathing, dressing, feeding, exercising, personal hygiene and grooming, transferring, ambulating, positioning, toileting and incontinence care, assisting with medication that the client self-administers, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.
• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies, industry standards, and state regulations.

Eligibility Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents
• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry
