Job summary

Collaborative-Support-Programs (CSPNJ) seeks a part-time Wellness Associate to support guests during a crisis and help them work toward recovery. You will help guests develop Wellness Plans, document treatments, and link them to community resources in collaboration with the Wellness Respite Associate.

Responsibilities include charting, maintaining records, and delivering group training with trauma-informed approaches. A NJ driver’s license is required; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a mental health field or equivalent experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED with four years of related work or lived experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging individual and group educational training sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Follow charting protocols and document current treatment information for guests.
  • Maintain records related to service plans and support services.
  • Provide residential (guest) counselling and support coping strategies for daily stresses.
  • Advocate for guests to access community resources and development of social activities.

Description

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a part-time Wellness Associate(s). Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Wellness Associate provides supportive services for guests to have a meaningful and successful stay; to learn crisis coping skills and to work towards realizing their full potential. During their stay guests will work on a Wellness Plan and be linked to services and resources within their community in collaboration with the Wellness Respite Associate. Wellness Respites offer stays for up to ten days and provide an open-door setting where guests can continue their daily activities. This program provides an alternative to hospitalization for individuals who are in crisis.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Follows team protocol for charting and recording current treatment information for guests. This includes ongoing documentation of current medications and follow-up appointments.
  • Maintains accurate records related to the service plan and support services provided.
  • Maintains a working relationship with all guests and provides residential (guest) counselling.
  • Supports guests to identify and develop coping strategies related to daily stresses, encouraging guests towards their personal vision of recovery, and supporting and assisting the achievement of personal goals.
  • Advocates with and/or on behalf of guests to access needed and desired community resources and works with the guests and team members to develop socialization/recreational opportunities.

Schedule
  1. Friday & Saturday: 3:30pm - 11:30pm; 11:30pm - 8:00am
Hourly Rate: $19.23 - $22.12 based on education & experience
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a mental health field, or a High School Diploma/GED with four (4) years of related work or lived experience.
  • Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (C.P.R.P.) certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging individual and group educational training sessions for diverse audiences with varying levels of knowledge, experience, and learning styles.
  • Skilled in adapting training methods, materials, and communication approaches to meet the needs of participants, promote understanding, encourage participation, and support successful learning outcomes.
  • Strong assessment, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to effectively evaluate situations, identify risks and needs, and respond appropriately during crisis situations while maintaining professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Highly effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities, adapt to shifting demands, and achieve objectives within established timelines.
  • Proven ability to engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses using empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office technology, with the ability to efficiently manage electronic records, correspondence, data entry, and document preparation. Valid NJ driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus!
  • MUST have a valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
