Job summary

HealthFitness is seeking a Program Manager I - Fitness to lead a dynamic onsite wellness program at our client site in Durham, NC. This role blends leadership, member engagement, and operational oversight in a 24/7 facility with group fitness studios and personal training services.

You will hire and mentor staff, design engaging wellness initiatives, manage daily operations, and provide outcomes-focused reports that demonstrate program value and success.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Exercise Science or related field.
• 2+ years of related industry experience.
• Industry-recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA (required within 30 days of hire).
• NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer certification (required within 60 days of hire).
• Prior supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operational aspects of the onsite fitness and wellness program.
• Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with client goals.
• Ensure contract compliance and operational excellence while maintaining service standards.
• Design and facilitate wellness initiatives to encourage participation.
• Hire, train, coach, and inspire staff to deliver outstanding experiences.
• Analyze program outcomes and develop reports showing value and results.
• Provide hands-on fitness leadership through training, assessment, and coaching.
• Lead and instruct group fitness classes and supervise fitness floor activities.
