  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The incumbent must be able to perform the following duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions:

  • Develop and coordinate weekly wellness education sessions and health screenings in community-based settings
  • Organize and lead in-person community health events, education, including health fairs, educational campaigns, and screening drives in Prince William and Fairfax counties (Woodbridge, Lorton, Manassas, and Arlington areas)
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local health organizations, nonprofit agencies, and government health departments to enhance program reach and impact.
  • Assist with participant outreach and recruitment, including conducting informed consent and delivering program materials in both English and Spanish.
  • Support data collection efforts, including survey administration, vital signs measurements, and accurate entry of health screening data.
  • Maintain participant tracking logs and ensure timely, culturally appropriate follow-up.
  • Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and protocols for maintaining Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Collaborate with the research team to ensure timely implementation and compliance with grant deliverables and successful completion.
  • Coordinate logistics and scheduling for recurring outreach activities and events.

Non-essential Duties

  • Assist with special projects and related duties as assigned.
  • Assist with project’s outcome evaluation

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health promotion, health education, health sciences, biology, or related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
  • Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in community outreach, wellness, and health promotion delivery, and community project coordination.
  • Master of Public Health (MPH) or enrollment in a relevant graduate program.
  • Familiarity with health education and wellness strategies, community health promotion, and evaluation.
  • Understanding of research protocols and community-based data collection methods.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Knowledge of community health principles, wellness promotion, and cultural competence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint); Workday experience preferred.
  • Ability to build rapport with community stakeholders and work in interprofessional teams.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • CITI certification (preferred)

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

  • A personal vehicle is recommended to be able to travel to community sites, senior centers, and partner organizations, especially in Prince William, Woodbridge, Lorton, Manassas, and Arlington.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work to support community events.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Standard office and community outreach settings.
  • Must be able to lift light equipment/materials for event setup.
