Job summary

Spectrum Retirement Communities is seeking a Wellness Nurse to support residents through ongoing clinical monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with nurses and caregivers. The role requires full-time day shifts (7am–7pm) with every other weekend.

You will ensure care plans are followed, coordinate with physicians and external providers, document observations, and maintain compliance with state regulations. A nursing license (LPN or RN) and geriatric experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license and state registration (LPN or RN).
• Working knowledge of state regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Graduated from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Three years’ experience in assessment and geriatric nursing (preferred).
• A big smile, eagerness to learn, and compassion for our Residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordination of the resident admission process including screening, assessment, and care needs.
• Ensure care is delivered as indicated in resident care plans.
• Medication and treatment administration and ensure medications are administered per physicians’ orders.
• Assistance with coordinating care and services with other outside providers including resident physicians.
• Document and report care provided and resident observations including unusual or significant changes.
• Maintain a working knowledge of state regulations, policies, and procedures.

The Wellness Nurse supports the health and well-being of residents through ongoing clinical monitoring and support, provides assistance to community nurses, caregivers, and medication personnel to help ensure regulatory compliance and clinical excellence. The ability to work effectively as part of a team with flexibility and adaptability to change and pace of duties while maintaining a warm and encouraging disposition is important.
