Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes and directs operations of the community in line with laws and Galerie Management guidelines.
  • Alerts Wellness Director to change of condition and tracks incident reporting.
  • Participates in Move In assessments as requested by Wellness Director.
  • Communicates with families via care plan meetings, emails and calls.
  • Supports families' social and emotional needs and encourages involvement.
  • Monitors staffing hours and patterns to maximize efficiency.
  • Manages department budget including labor and expenses and impact on performance.
  • Assists in hiring, training, supervision, coaching and discipline of clinical staff.
  • Schedules clinical staff and remains on call as needed.

Job DetailsJob Location: ATLANTA, GA 30327Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: PM ShiftSummary: The Wellness Nurse is responsible for managing and addressing resident care needs within the community. The Wellness Nurse will hire, train, supervise, and schedule the Resident Assistants, CNAs, and CMAs. They will monitor resident care needs, alert the Wellness Director when a resident has a change in condition, and address both resident and family concerns.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Plans, organizes, develops and assists in directing the overall operation of the community in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, and Galerie Management regulations and guidelines.
  • Partners with Wellness Director by alerting to any change of condition of the resident including tracking incident reporting.
  • Participates in the Move In process by completing initial assessments as requested by the Wellness Director.
  • Communicates regularly with families through care plan meetings, emails, and phones calls.
  • Acts as a resource and meets the families social and emotional needs while encouraging family involvement.
  • Assists Wellness Director in monitoring employee hours worked and staffing patterns to assure the maximization of variable staffing.
  • Understands and manages the department budget to include labor and other expenses and the impact on overall community performance.
  • Assists in hiring, training, supervision, coaching, and discipline with all clinical associates.
  • Completes the schedule for clinical associates and is on call as needed.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:

Maintain a current active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License. A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and a minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Exhibit good time management and organization skills.
  • Possess the ability to handle complex issues.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Express compassion for residents, staff and guests on a consistent basis.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing administration practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing administration functions in an assisted living community.
  • Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the resident care department.
