Job summary

UNC Health Care System's Meadowmont Wellness Center in Chapel Hill is seeking a per diem massage therapist to provide body work therapy to clients based on their health history and needs.

Must graduate from an accredited massage program, be licensed by the North Carolina Board of Massage and Body Work Therapy, and hold BLS certification; one year of experience preferred; weekend availability required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Massage program.
• Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Massage and Body Work Therapy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of massage therapy or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures cleanliness of work areas before and after use and maintains supplies.
• Explains procedures to clients with sensitivity to individual needs and preferences; maintains confidentiality.
• Performs health history on clients prior to each session and notes precautions/contraindications.
• Performs other duties to support the Wellness Center, including marketing massage therapy programs.
• Delivers safe, effective body work and develops sessions based on client health history and input.
