Job summary

Partners In Development Foundation seeks a Kīʻapu Pathways Coordinator to develop and coordinate education, training, and workforce pathways for ʻōpio across ʻUpena Pili youth programs. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, workforce development, business administration, human services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in education, workforce development, career services, youth development, case management, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating education, training, internship, employment, or postsecondary opportunities.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, trainings, presentations for youth or adults.
  • Knowledge of positive youth development and trauma-informed or healing-centered practice.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Kīʻapu and ʻUpena Pili at education, workforce, and partner events.

Full Time Professional Waianae, HI, US

Salary Range: $49,400.00 To $55,300.00 Annually

Primary Purpose

Develop and coordinate culturally grounded education, training, and workforce pathways that help ʻōpio prepare, progress, and course correct toward their chosen destinations. Build opportunities with schools, colleges, employers, training providers, and community partners while collaborating with the Kīʻapu land-preparation team, Navigators, and other youth programs across ʻUpena Pili.

Pathway Development and Coordination
  • Develop, organize, and maintain education, training, credential, career exploration, internship, paid work experience, employment, and postsecondary pathways for ʻōpio across ʻUpena Pili youth programs;
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, alternative education programs, community colleges, training providers, employers, workforce organizations, and other partners that can expand opportunities for ʻōpio;
  • Coordinate Career and Technical Education (CTE), work-readiness, high school completion, postsecondary, and industry-recognized training opportunities aligned with ʻōpio interests and regional needs;
  • Stay informed about education requirements, labor-market trends, employment practices, and emerging opportunities to keep pathways relevant and accessible;
  • Curate pathway resources and opportunity options that Navigators can use when supporting individualized journeys with ʻōpio.
Learning and Workforce Experiences
  • Plan and facilitate career exploration, work-readiness, college and training information, resume development, interview preparation, workplace expectations, and related skill-building sessions;
  • Coordinate job fairs, career events, employer visits, campus experiences, pop-up opportunities, resource fairs, and other activities that provide exposure, experience, and expertise;
  • Work with partners to establish clear participation requirements, schedules, supports, and follow-up processes for internships, training, education, and employment opportunities;
  • Help identify and address program-level barriers that prevent ʻōpio from accessing or completing education, training, and workforce opportunities.
Land Preparation and Cross-Program Collaboration
  • Work closely with Navigators across ʻUpena Pili to understand ʻōpio interests, strengths, goals, and readiness and provide pathway-specific options and resources without replacing the Navigator's primary mentoring relationship;
  • Collaborate with the Wellness, Cultural, and Data & Events Coordinators as an integrated Kīʻapu land-preparation team so opportunities are culturally nourishing, healing-centered, and well-supported;
  • Coordinate with other youth programs under ʻUpena Pili to share resources and opportunities, strengthen referrals, reduce duplication, and expand pathways available to ʻōpio;
  • Participate in Kīʻapu and cross-program planning, case conferencing, and coordinated problem-solving when pathway expertise is needed.
Partnership and Opportunity Stewardship
  • Use active listening, relationship-building, advocacy, and professional communication to cultivate dependable, mutually beneficial partnerships;
  • Maintain regular communication with education and workforce partners and support agreements, expectations, documentation, and coordination for assigned opportunities;
  • Represent Kīʻapu and ʻUpena Pili at education, workforce, employer, and community meetings and events as assigned.
Data, Quality, and Continuous Improvement
  • Track pathway offerings, referrals, enrollment, participation, completion, credentials, placements, retention, and other assigned outcomes in PIDF systems;
  • Gather feedback from ʻōpio, Navigators, staff, and partners to assess the accessibility, relevance, and quality of pathway opportunities;
  • Use data and feedback to recommend adjustments, strengthen partner experiences, and improve education and workforce outcomes;
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records and contribute information for reports, dashboards, evaluation, and program planning.
Other Duties
  • Support ʻUpena Pili and Kīʻapu events, trainings, outreach, and community activities;
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through relevant learning and professional development;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Hours
  • Generally 40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday, or as otherwise determined by management;
  • Flexibility to adjust schedules for participant, family, partner, training, event, evening, or occasional weekend needs is required;
  • Position requires regular and predictable attendance.
Working Conditions
  • Hybrid work model with work conducted in office, remote, school, community, and program settings;
  • Frequent travel to program, participant, partner, and event locations on Oʻahu and Molokaʻi;
  • Travel to the continental U.S. may be required.

May include use of vehicles (company and personal), computers and other electronics, office equipment, site equipment, and facility equipment.

Education

Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in education, workforce development, career services, youth development, case management, or a related field;
  • Experience developing partnerships and coordinating education, training, internship, employment, or postsecondary opportunities;
  • Experience facilitating workshops, trainings, presentations, or informational sessions for youth or adults;
  • Experience supporting youth who face barriers to education or employment, including systems involvement, homelessness, foster care, or limited work experience;
  • Knowledge of positive youth development and trauma-informed or healing-centered practice;
  • Strong organizational, relationship-building, problem-solving, documentation, and time-management skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email, internet research, data systems, and virtual meeting platforms.
Driving
  • Must have access to a vehicle, a valid driver's license, a safe and responsible driving record, and current no-fault auto insurance with at least $100,000 in bodily injury liability per person and $25,000 in property damage liability.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of Hawaiʻi's education, workforce, training, and employment systems and regional labor-market needs;
  • Knowledge of Native Hawaiian culture, values, language, and community dynamics;
  • Experience working with opportunity or systems-involved youth;
  • Experience tracking education, credential, training, internship, or employment outcomes.
