Job summary

YMCA Southcoast in Wareham is seeking a Wellness Coordinator to supervise, instruct, and lead members in the Free weight room, cardio center, and overall Wellness/Fitness Department to ensure a safe, positive, and healthy experience.

You will orient new members, develop personalized exercise programs, perform equipment maintenance, and uphold the YMCA's values and member code of conduct while participating in staff trainings.

Qualifications

• Current CPR and First Aid certifications; or obtain within 3 months of employment.
• Basic knowledge of exercise training principles: cardio, strength, endurance, flexibility.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; wellness advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide a friendly environment and encourage members during workouts.
• Orient new members to Cardiovascular/Nautilus room and demonstrate equipment use.
• Provide workout cards and generate personalized exercise programs for members.
• Instruct on basics of exercise, including cardio fitness, strength, endurance, and flexibility.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and keep Wellness/Fitness areas safe and clean.
• Uphold the membership code of conduct and YMCA values.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and trainings.
