The Wellness Center Coach is responsible for facilitating member retention through relationship building and active engagement with members in the Wellness Center. This position implements Wellness Orientations, individualized exercise programs, and small group training, ensuring a positive, supportive, and safe environment for all members.
There are immediate openings at the William-Emslie YMCA and the Independent Health YMCA.
Will be scheduled a minimum of 12 hours per week. Early morning, afternoon, and evening shifts are available. Must be available to work on weekends.
Certifications: Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI), or Foundations of Strength and Conditioning at the Y Certification within one year of employment.
Specialized Certification: National Certification in Personal Training is preferred.
Experience: One year of practical experience in fitness instruction, personal training, athletic coaching, or physical therapy.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and provide individualized support.
