Job summary

JAMHI Health & Wellness, Inc. is seeking a mission-driven Group Wellness Coach to develop and facilitate weekly wellness activities for AMHR housing clients.

You will provide individualized support through assessments, goal setting, and personalized wellness plans, while managing a caseload. Responsibilities include motivational interviewing, group leadership, safe transportation to resources, and collaboration with clinical and case management teams to integrate wellness into treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in healthcare, nutrition, physical education, or a related field; experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
• One year of experience in counseling on health topics such as nutrition, exercise, stress reduction, or other general holistic health topics.
• Licensure as a fitness trainer or certified health educator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and facilitates weekly in-house and community-based wellness activities for housing clients.
• Provides individualized support via wellness assessments, goal setting, and personalized wellness plans; manages a caseload.
• Builds supportive relationships using motivational interviewing and de-escalation techniques.
• Leads group activities, transports clients to resources, and connects with local recreation opportunities.

• Maintains accurate documentation, tracks client progress, and participates in team meetings and trainings.

Under the supervision of the Wellness Supervisor, the Group Wellness Coach develops and facilitates weekly in-house and community-based wellness activities for AMHR housing clients. This role also provides individualized support through wellness assessments, goal setting, personalized wellness plans, and management of an assigned caseload.

You will build supportive relationships using motivational interviewing, mindful listening, and de-escalation techniques; encourage participation in recovery and rehabilitative services; and help clients increase independence and develop healthy lifestyle habits. You’ll lead and participate in group activities, safely transport clients to community resources, and develop connections with local recreational, fitness, and outdoor opportunities.

The Group Wellness Coach collaborates with wellness, clinical, peer support, case management, and primary care teams to integrate wellness into treatment plans. The role also requires accurate documentation, tracking of client progress, and participation in treatment team meetings and trainings.

Pay rates offered are determined based on a standardized scale that considers relevant experience and education .

All JAMHI positions require the ability to pass a criminal background check in accordance with the current state regulation requirements and a valid Alaska driver’s license and be able to clear the JAMHI auto insurance screening through the independent insurance carrier if driving.
