Job summary

Greater Somerset County YMCA in Somerset County, New Jersey is seeking energetic Fitness Floor Supervisors to support our mission of healthy living and community engagement. As a supervisor you will deliver member service, help maintain a safe, welcoming Wellness Center, and promote YMCA programs.

This is a part-time role with opportunities for advancement within a values-driven nonprofit. We offer a collaborative environment, professional development, and access to YMCA Healthy Living Programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Working knowledge of body mechanics and physical fitness principles preferred.
• CPR, First Aid and AED Certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with members and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides a high level of customer service greeting each member by first name.
• Enforce the rules posted to help maintain an organized facility.
• Creates a safe, positive, and motivating environment for members and staff.
• Maintains cleanliness and neatness of the wellness area and report any equipment issues.
• Build effective and authentic relationships with members; help members connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Assists with the promotion of YMCA Healthy Living Programs including Personal Training, Chronic Disease Programming, Group Exercise Classes, etc.
• Observe participants and members activities; enforce safety regulations and positively explain and interpret all YMCA safety policies.
• Walk through and monitor the Wellness Center periodically.
